Congratulations to Mr David Duncan from Kilcoy and his recent achievements for being awarded the Excellence in Feedlot Education Medal at the Australian Lot Feeders Association’s SmartBeef conference.   Teys Condamine livestock manager, Mr Duncan was selected as one of three finalists for the award.

The Brisbane Valley Kilcoy Landcare Group is holding its AGM on 23 October, and a huge call out to any community member who may have time available to help out.  Most of the Executive positions will be declared vacant and without support, this group has a real chance of disappearing from our community.  Please come along if you have a regard for this type of local voluntary group.

A huge thank you to our SES and Rural Fire Brigades for their efforts during recent fires in our region.

(Since the last Ordinary Council meeting, I have attended)

I wish to thank the nbn Representatives for providing an informative presentation and answering related questions about the nbn network.  As Councillor, the opportunity to organise this public presentation in collaboration with the Kilcoy District Progress Alliance is appreciated.

The production was well supported over the two days, Sunday and Monday.  We look forward to the next touring production.

Once again, this event was well supported by families and service providers.  Well done to council staff.

03 October         Brisbane Valley Heritage Trails Committee – Monthly Meeting – Yarraman

Much discussion took place around the new Link Trail between Yarraman and Nanango.  The Nanango Soundtrail project was discussed and experiences shared with the committee.

There was a good crowd who returned to Jimna to catch up.  All reports provide that a fun time was had at the Spring Dance.
